Lisa Nhan, DPM

Lisa Nhan, DPMDr. Lisa Nhan, a Southern California native, is a highly trained foot and ankle specialist with extensive experience in the latest treatments for foot and ankle conditions including minimally invasive surgical techniques, corrective and reconstructive surgery, trauma, diabetic limb salvage, pediatric foot conditions, sports medicine and primary podiatric medicine.

Dr. Nhan completed her undergraduate education at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. She then obtained her medical degree from the California School of Podiatric Medicine in the Bay Area. During medical school, Dr. Nhan was awarded several academic scholarships and was a presenter at the annual American Public Health Association meeting where she was given the student award in podiatric health.

Dr. Nhan has completed a comprehensive three-year podiatric surgical residency at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, which included training at: Miller's Children Hospital of Long Beach, St. Mary Medical Center, Community Hospital of Long Beach, and the Veterans Affair Long Beach Healthcare System. Working beside some of the most respected surgical specialists, she amassed an abundant and diverse surgical background. Dr. Nhan also co-authored several articles on the prevention of diabetic foot ulcers and was involved in a wound score research study to score lower extremity wounds with findings and considerations given to patients' goals and wellness.

Dr. Nhan also helped organize a volunteer medical mission to rural Panama where she used her comprehensive skills in foot conditions, diabetic limb salvage, nail conditions and foot infection to help the villagers receive treatment they never would have been able to get without extensive travel and crippling cost.

Dr. Nhan's caring bedside manner resonated early in her career and has endeared her to many patients. By understanding the concerns and needs of her patients, she is able to deliver the best care for her patients to reduce foot pain and return them to a normal, active lifestyle.

Her interest in podiatry and sport-related injuries of the foot and ankle began when she was on the championship basketball team in her high school. Always active in sports, she continues to enjoy living in Long Beach where she appreciates a healthy active lifestyle and enjoys do-it-yourself projects, photography and is an avid surfer.
